I've never considered returning a cookbook before. I've got probably over 200 at home, and almost every paleo cookbook out there. Each one adds something delightful to my arsenal, so even if I only end up using a handful of recipes out of some of them, I still return to them again and again.I commend the author's journey and work on the cookbook. However, I will not be using it. One quick look through the intro and it becomes clear that the book is not really Whole 30 appropriate. Ex: there is a sandwich recipe with GF bread, and chickpeas. There's a tostada with black beans. There are recipes with dairy. Yes, I'll completely admit that most of the recipes do not contain grains, beans, or dairy. But I don't want to have to comb through a cookbook wondering if I'll be able to make a recipe or not or if "this one" will be one where I have to omit the yummiest part: the dairy. (it just irritates me to no end when cookbooks advertise themselves as one thing and turn out to not be...Whole 30 is unequivocal in stating that no grains, beans, or cheese are allowed.)Also, this seems way more appropriate for someone who is just getting started on their whole food journey. So many of the recipes look so insanely basic that they seem like ones you don't really need a recipe for...unless you're just getting started out with cooking and making food from scratch. A lot of them are things I'd think of as stuff to just throw together and whip up quick off the top of my head, using stuff I had around the house.So, if you don't need to be 100% paleo compliant, if you're just working on prepping more Whole 30 approved meals but still allow foods outside those parameters, and if you're new in the kitchen, then you'll probably enjoy this book.I've been cooking for about 20 years now, and have been strict paleo for about 5. We cook everything from scratch. This cookbook just isn't for us. I need new interesting creative ways to throw ingredients together, as well as more cookbooks that keep with a strict definition of paleo, as opposed to another one where I can't eat many of the recipes because they have inflammatory foods like grains and beans in them.I know there will be many many people who disagree with me on this review. But for whatever it's worth, if you've got years of cooking under your belt already and you also need recipes that follow strict guidelines, you might want to look at this at a bookstore first before deciding if this book will have anything to offer you. I'm sorry for leaving a poor review, I'm sure many people will enjoy this book immensely.

Stop shopping around for the perfect Whole30 cookbook, here it is! I am new to Whole30 and was nervous about books containing recipes that were too complex or ingredients that were too difficult to find but that is not the case with this book. It is AMAZING! The recipes are easy to follow, using ingredients readily found at local markets, and most importantly family friendly! We are so excited to use this book as our first true Whole30 guide (plus some food freedom recipes). If you are even considering Whole30 or simply a healthier relationship with food, you should buy this cookbook. Enjoy!!!

If you like great cookbooks that are fun to read, have great recipes that are easy/healthy and DONT require a bunch of ingredients you haven’t heard of/will only use once/are expensive AND has lots of beautiful pictures (pics for almost every recipe!) - THIS is the cookbook for you! I love this cookbook and Michelle’s approach to food and life. We have several recipes on repeat in our house! You won’t regret buying this!For reference, I love cooking anything by Ina Garten. I love Smitten Kitchen As well.

So I follow Michelle Smith on Instagram and have been a huge fan of her recipes for awhile. I knew I had to order this cookbook as soon as I knew it was coming out. I had high expectations but she exceeded them. There are several things that I always look for in a cookbook but most fall short. NOT this one. It has real recipes, using good clean food, most of which I actually have at my house, the descriptions and recipes are easy to follow, there are pictures of the final product on almost every single recipe, the condiment and sauce chapter is amazing and it lists which category each recipe falls into so I don’t have to figure it out. Aka Whole30, Vegan, Paleo etc. The only problem I’ve come across yet is which recipe to make first because each one looks insane. Michelle poured her heart and soul into this book and it shows. I can’t wait to try everything and gift this book to other food loving friends.

The icon on the book cover says Whole 30 ENDORSED not Approved; apparently there is a difference. I didn't find many Whole 30 recipes but ones that were compliant only if they were modified. Granted there are some Whole 30 recipes but I thought it was a Whole 30 cookbook, particularly since the title is Whole Smiths. I can modify any recipe myself. To add insult to injury, I had to pay the return shipping.

Absolutely love this cookbook!! I have been following Michelle’s blog for a few years now and my family has always enjoyed her recipes. This cookbook has so many easy, delicious recipes that I can’t wait to serve to friends and family! The first night I got the book we made the chimichuri party wings with the crusty cauliflower on the side- my entire family LOVED it! Thank you Michelle for making food exciting AND delicious. Oh and the No’atmeal cookies are absolutely a staple in our house!!

This book is incredible!! For anyone wanting to eat clean recipes that are easy to throw together - this is the book for you! Every meal is covered and Michelle finds ways to combine ingredients in new ways that delicious every time. With family friendly recipes, this book will be a staple in our house for years to come!

I highly recommend this gorgeous spectacular cookbook! Great easy flavorful healthy recipes that are easy to follow with helpful tips. Whole30 and Food Freedom... Just like the title says: GOOD FOOD COOKBOOK ... Amazing full page photos. So many good recipes to try which I have already have. SO GOOD! I wish I could give more than five stars + Thank you Michelle! Your GOOD FOOD COOKBOOK is on my top favorite list right next to Whole30 Fast & Easy Cookbook by Melissa Hartwig.One more note: I am a follower of the Whole30 community/program.
