The sixth edition of this classic of leadership literature is just as impactful as the third edition, which I had as a text in graduate school. I used this for a course I'm piloting this semester and the content kept the students thoroughly engaged.

This book is better than many, but not close to the standards of the Storey Guides for beef cattle and raising chickens, two of my go-to resources.There is a good amount of information in the book, but it is not necessarily what the typical new sheep owner will need, and is not presented in an easy to use format. For one example, suppose you want to know the gestation period of a sheep. While there are hints that it is something over 4 months, I could find nothing in the book more specific. And weaning will be an important topic for anyone raising sheep. Again I can find no mention of this basic issue, nor the related matter of mastitis risk and treatment when ewes stop nursing their lambs.If your interest is in dogs, this may be a good book. A disproportionate part of the book is devoted to managing sheep with herding dogs and to the selection of dogs to protect a flock from predators. Even so, the information on dogs is too superficial to be of much value, and those pages would have been better used to provide information for the beginning sheep owner.It is convenient to have a book that can be turned to whenever there is a question or problem with one's livestock. Unfortunately this book is so incomplete and poorly organized that one normally will need to turn to another resource. Good and comprehensive information about sheep is available online, but that is best accessed using a desktop or notebook computer which limits its portability.There probably are better sheep books available, there certainly are less useful sheep books for sale. I will be keeping this book, but would not buy it again.
Lots of detailed information. Did what it was supposed to do: convince me that responsibly caring for sheep is more work than I am really interested in at the moment. But I have it on file for reference should that day arrive that I have too much time, money, and energy--and not enough cute, fluffy pasture animals.This is not a book with lots of romantic color pictures of lambs frolicking in green pastures that will lead you to an impulse purchase you will regret.
This is a helpful guide for those interested in owning sheep. A great deal of the book is devoted to breeding and lambing, with complete descriptions of various kinds of problems, while another chapter discusses shipping and marketing the meat. There are good illustrations on building various pieces of equipment, such as a hay bunk. There isn't much information on wool production; the focus is mainly on breeding and raising market lambs.
I live in town and have no aspirations to take up shepherding. However, if you (like me) write fiction, this is a GREAT reference. I found a wealth of easy-to-understand information to enhance the realism of the ancient sheep herder in my next novel. Although my reason for purchasing the book is not exactly mainstream, I enjoyed and highly recommend it.
In the past, I have purchased other Storey's Guide books and found them to be excellent resources. The Raising Sheep version of the guide book series I found too general. The book appears to be written for individuals considering raising sheep in the future. For those current raising sheep, the book falls short on detail. Books by Laura Lawson or the Web site Sheep 201 provide much more detail on raising sheep.
As somebody who is new to sheep, but has extensive experience in other livestock, this book helped me have the confidence to start my flock. A lot of good information on diseases, breeding, lambing, shearing as well as breeds and guardian animals. Even has information on fencing, handling and housing. If you have some experience or are a total novice this book is great and a fantastic price point and place to get started.
I don't think a single book could be more complete about what a beginner needs to know. It is concise and easy to read. Very well edited.
I found this book to be thorough in its content and what you need to know to raise any kind of sheep. Complete span of necessary information for the professional with a large flock, or for those who want to start and raise just a few. Filled with terrific information. I currently have 80 ewes and 4 rams of Barbado. Based on information I gained from this book I will be introducing rams and ewes from two different breeds, to create a blood-line that will be optimal for production in my geography and climate, and on my acreage. I'm looking to eventually have maximum flock size of 280. I am very grateful to the two authors for sharing their knowledge and all this information.

A nice refreshing keto program. This program is payed out in an easy to follow format but it also includes many tips on getting to our emotional aspects of eating. I am really looking forward to doing his recipe outline and then moving on to what works best for me.The reviewer that was so disappointed with the pineapple and honey in a recipe obviously didn't see that it was for higher carb cycling. He includes this in the book as part of giving us choices in our diets as we decide to phase in or out of keto.Overall a very well done book!
How disappointing to find recipes with honey and pineapple. How sad to find individual meals with carb levels far in excess of what people are allowed in a day.Maybe this should have been entitled Keto for people who want to capitalize on a fad

It also goes further highlighting the mind, body, spirit connection and encouraging you to seek overall health in all areas. Drew shares his own journey and experiences in a guide that is also a very pleasurable and quick read. The book motivated me to restart my Keto journey and to do so with a focus on my overall health. Not only have I lost weight since I started but I also began a daily meditation and journaling habit with the help of recommendations in the book.

I like how easy of a read this book is. I just got to part 3 in the book where it starts talking about the actual plan he provides to start on the keto program. He keeps it "real" as this is a life style change, not a diet. He knows that most of us will fall off the wagon, which is ok, we are not perfect. The book has everything you should need to be successful in your life style change.

The story itself was simple. A girl meets a guy, doesn't meet any of his family or goes to his house and is surprised when she finds out she's a side chick situation. The writing was interesting and engaging enough to keep me reading although it did drag a little in the beginning. I think the book would have benefitted from another round of editing as there were several spelling mistakes. The one thing that irritated me was not having the ending of the book. What happened to the days when I could read a book from beginning to end without having to spend $2.99 a pop to finish each "chapter"? Did not like the story enough to continue.
This book started off slow and went all over the place and ended with a cliff hanger but the book was not finished it wasnt much meat to the first part i tried the sample for part 2 but it was not doing it for me.I was reading THIS book i got for free and as soon as it got interesting it ended the second installment cost $2.99 for 80 and the 3rd installment cost $2.99 for 88 pages this book as 6 parts first part is FREE BUT EACH ADDITIONAL PART IS $2.99 SO THE TOTAL FOR THIS BOOK IS 14.95 WHY NOT PUT MAKE IT ONE DARN BOOK. IF I WOULD HAVE KNOW IT WAS 6 SHORT STORIES IN ONE I WOULD NOT HAVE STARTED IT. NEEDLESS TO SAY IM NOT READING PAST THE SAMPLE OF PART 2....AS A READER I HATE THIS FORM OF WRITING AND PUBLISHING BY AUTHORS. OK VENT OVER.
I wasn't impressed with the story line. Also, this book ends awkwardly. These authors try to milk this by having never ending parts to these books, but when you cut this off at what would be the climax of the actual story...smh I don't even want to read the second book. Thank goodness, it was free ok Prime.
Tired of these bait and hook books. I missed books written with a complete story line not one where you have to read 5 books to get to the end. Not a fan.
This series is an interesting read up to Book 6. I got the first book for free on Amazon and it abruptly ended but I just had to know what happened next so I bought Part 2 but then that became the tread for the series. What I didn’t like about this series is that the books are like short stories and then you have to pay $2.99 for the next short story to see what happens next. I’m an avid reader and love love love series books but this is a bit much for a bunch of short stories about the same characters. I didn’t really care for how Part 6 ended but I’m glad it ended like it did bc I was able to finally say I don’t care what happens in the books that follow, I’m walking away from this series, and then put the money towards something else. For me parts 1- 6 could’ve been one book (with 6 having a better ending) but even though it was an interesting read I feel cheated out of about $15. Unless this series was combined into fewer books, I wouldn’t recommend buying.
The storyline was so redundant that I still cannot find the right words to describe this entire series. The "books" were definitely drawn out and the typos were annoying. I bought the first couple of books when they first came out years ago but I stopped reading this series. I recently decided to buy the rest of the books because I could not remember why I stopped reading about these characters. Now that I have completed this "story" I can honestly say that I was reminded as to why I stopped reading these books. I would also like to say that this should have been four books max.FYI...I really want my money back for books 4-11.
This book was crazy. The whole time, the lies and deceit. I was just blown away. I guess she didn't ask the right question... I really enjoyed this book. I love the story line, plot etc... it was a very good mature read.I choose a 4 star rating because this book actually took you there...I would recommend this book to all who love the drama, dirty secrets. Also who doesn't mind being blown away.
The saying it's to good to be true held so true in this novel. Poor Jayla, just when she thought things were great in her world. Too many questions are not answered and I'm not about to purchase the other 4 or 5 books so I guess I'll have to just not know how it ends. I just can't do multiple novels in a series right now. Overall a good start just editing needed & I hate the abrupt ending.
